Unit 1: The Global Tapestry
The first unit in the AP Modern course focuses on the world from 1200 to 1450. Around the world many empires were thriving such as the Song Dynasty in China and the Aztecs in Mesoamerica. Regional trade routes were centers of achievement in Africa and Southeast Asia. In Central Asia, the Mongols were able to centralize their power and develop the largest land empire in history.
